न क्रोधो न च मात्सर्य न लोभो नाशुभा मति: । भवन्ति कृतपुण्यानां भक्तानां पुरुषोत्तमे
na krodho na ca mātsaryaṁ na lobho nāśubhā matiḥ | bhavanti kṛta-puṇyānāṁ bhaktānāṁ puruṣottame ||
قال بهيشما: إنّ المخلصين ذوي الفضل المتراكم، إذا ثبتت عبادتهم على «الشخص الأسمى» (بوروشوتّما)، فلا تقوم فيهم غضبة، ولا حسد، ولا طمع؛ ولا تميل بصيرتهم قطّ إلى ما هو دنس أو مُؤذٍ.
भीष्म उवाच
True devotion to Puruṣottama, supported by accumulated merit and right conduct, naturally weakens and removes inner vices—anger, envy, and greed—and keeps the intellect from turning toward impure or harmful aims.
