श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच ब्राह्मणा लोकसारेण सृष्टा धात्रा गुणार्थिना । लोकांस्तारयितुं कृत्स्नान्‌ मर्त्येषु क्षितिदेवता:

śrīmaheśvara uvāca | brāhmaṇā lokasāreṇa sṛṣṭā dhātrā guṇārthinā | lokāṁstārayituṁ kṛtsnān martyeṣu kṣitidevatāḥ ||

قال شري مهايشڤارا: «يا ديفي، إنّ الخالق (Dhātṛ)، رغبةً في تجلّي لعب الغونات (guṇa) وثمرتها، أوجدَ البراهمة (Brāhmaṇa) في عالم البشر الفاني من جوهر الكون نفسه، لكي تُهتدى العوالم كلّها إلى العبور نحو الخير والتحرّر. وبين الناس يُدعون “آلهة الأرض”، ولذلك سأصف أولًا دارماهم (dharma) وشعائرهم وثمراتها، لأنّ الدارما القائمة في البراهمة تُعَدّ الدارما العليا».
