Rudra-Śiva: Names, Two Natures, and the Logic of Epithets (रुद्रनाम-बहुरूपत्व-प्रकरणम्)
अस्य चैवर्षिसंघस्य मम च प्रियकाम्यया । एतं ममेह संदेहं वक्तुमर्हस्यरिंदम
asya caiva ṛṣi-saṅghasya mama ca priya-kāmyayā | etaṁ mameha saṁdehaṁ vaktum arhasi rindaṁ, prabho ||
قال نارادا: «ابتغاءَ إرضاءِ هذا المحفل كلِّه من الحكماء—وإرضائي أنا أيضًا—يا قاهرَ الأعداء، يا ربّ، يليق بك أن تُبيّن لي هنا هذا الشكَّ الذي اعتراني».
नारद उवाच
The verse models dharmic inquiry: a sage respectfully requests clarification from a higher authority, emphasizing that teaching should be given for the welfare and satisfaction of the gathered seekers.
Nārada addresses the Lord (described as a subduer of foes) and asks him to resolve a doubt, explicitly stating that the request is made to benefit and please both the assembled sages and Nārada himself.
