Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
prāptānujñāṃ gurujanād ahaṃ tākṣyam acintayam | so 'vahad himavantaṃ māṃ prāpya cainaṃ vyasarjayam ||
The verse highlights dharmic procedure: one should seek and receive the consent of elders/authorities before undertaking an important act, and then act with restraint—accepting help without pride and releasing it appropriately once the purpose is fulfilled.
Vāsudeva says that after receiving permission from respected elders, he mentally invoked Garuḍa (Tākṣya). Garuḍa transported him to the Himalaya, and upon reaching there Vāsudeva dismissed Garuḍa.
