आचारप्रशंसा

Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

पर्वकालेषु सर्वेषु ब्रहद्मयचारी सदा भवेत्‌ | मनुष्य सभी पर्वोके समय स्नान करके पवित्र हो वस्त्र एवं आभूषणोंसे विभूषित होकर उपवास करे तथा पर्वकालमें सदा ही ब्रह्मचर्यका पालन करे ।।

parvakāleṣu sarveṣu brahmacārī sadā bhavet | samānam ekapātre tu bhuñjennānnaṃ janeśvara |

قال بهيشما: «في كل أزمنة الأعياد المقدسة ينبغي للمرء أن يلازم البراهماتشاريا (العفة والانضباط) دائمًا: بعد الاغتسال والتطهر، يلبس ثيابًا نظيفة ويتزين بما يليق، ثم يصوم. يا سيد الناس، لا يأكلنّ أحدٌ مع غيره من إناء واحد. ولا يأكل طعامًا تنجّس بلمس امرأة حائض، ولا يتناول ما استُخرجت خلاصته من قبل. ولا يأكل قبل أن يعطي من ينظر إلى الطعام بعينٍ متلهفة.»
