Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity
parāpavādaṁ na brūyān nāpriyaṁ ca kadācana | na manyuḥ kaścid utpādyaḥ puruṣeṇa bhavārthinā ||

Cultivate disciplined speech: do not slander others, do not speak hurtful words, and do not provoke anger—because one’s welfare is protected by restraint and non-injury through speech.
In the Anushasana Parva, Bhishma continues his instruction on dharma, giving practical ethical guidance; here he emphasizes verbal restraint and avoiding actions that inflame others’ anger.
