Educational Q&A

Bhīṣma teaches that simple devotional gifts—offering incense and lamps—when performed with respectful salutations, are dharmic acts that generate merit and strengthen one’s inner virtues.

In Bhīṣma’s instruction on dharma, he describes the conduct of sādhus (virtuous people): they worship the deities by offering incense and lamps along with namaskāra, regarding these offerings as spiritually beneficial.
