Nahūṣa Episode and the Commendation of Lamp-Gifting and Household Offerings
पतितो5पि महाराज भूतले स्मृतिमानभूत् । प्रसादयामास भृगुं शापान्तो मे भवेदिति
patito 'pi mahārāja bhūtale smṛtimān abhūt | prasādayāmāsa bhṛguṁ śāpānto me bhaved iti ||
قال بهيشما: «حتى بعد أن سقط على الأرض، أيها الملك العظيم، لم يفقد رباطة جأشه. وسعى إلى استرضاء الحكيم بهريغو وهو يقول في نفسه: “ليت اللعنة التي حلت بي تبلغ نهايتها.”»
भीष्म उवाच
Even in distress or humiliation, one should retain composure and act ethically—seeking reconciliation and relief through respectful, dharmic means (here, propitiating a sage), rather than reacting with anger or despair.
Bhīṣma narrates that a person, though fallen to the ground, remained mentally steady and approached the sage Bhṛgu to pacify him, hoping that the curse affecting him would be brought to an end.
