ययातेर्वानप्रस्थतपःस्वर्गारोहणम् | Yayāti’s Vānaprastha Austerities and Ascent to Heaven

ययातिरुवाच अधर्मो न स्पृशेदेष महान्‌ मामिह भार्गव | वर्णसंकरजो ब्रद्वान्निति त्वां प्रवृणोम्पहम्‌,ययाति बोले--भार्गव ब्रह्मन! मैं आपसे यह वर माँगता हूँ कि इस विवाहमें यह प्रत्यक्ष दीखनेवाला वर्णसंकरजनित महान्‌ अधर्म मेरा स्पर्श न करे

yayātir uvāca | adharmo na spṛśed eṣa mahān mām iha bhārgava | varṇasaṅkarajo brāhmaṇn iti tvāṃ pravṛṇomy aham ||

قال يَياتي: «يا بهارغفا، يا براهمن! في هذا الأمر، ليته لا يمسّني ذلك الأدهرما العظيم، المولود من خطر اختلاط الفَرْنَة الظاهر في هذا الزواج. هذا هو العطاء الذي أختاره منك».
