Chapter 74: Non-anger, Forbearance, and the Ethics of Residence

कुलवंशप्रतिष्ठां हि पितर: पुत्रमब्रुवन्‌ । उत्तमं सर्वधर्माणां तस्मात्‌ पुत्र न संत्यजेत्‌,पितरोंने पुत्रको कुल और वंशकी प्रतिष्ठा बताया है, अतः पुत्र सब धर्मामें उत्तम है। इसलिये पुत्रका त्याग नहीं करना चाहिये

kula-vaṁśa-pratiṣṭhāṁ hi pitaraḥ putram abruvan | uttamaṁ sarva-dharmāṇāṁ tasmāt putra na saṁtyajet ||

قال دوشيانتا: «لقد أعلن الأسلاف أن الابن هو أساس الأسرة وسلالتها. لذلك، من بين جميع الواجبات، فإن الواجب المتعلق بإنجاب الابن وصونه هو الأسمى؛ ومن ثم لا ينبغي للمرء أن يهجر ابنه.»
