इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आदिपर्वके अन्तर्गत सम्भवपर्वमें शकुन्तलोपाख्यानविषयक इकद्तत्तवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraḥ śrīmahābhārate ādiparvake antargata-sambhavaparvaṇi śakuntalopākhyāna-viṣayaka ekasaptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ
وهكذا تنتهي السورةُ الثانية والسبعون من «سَمْبَهَفَا بَرْفَا» ضمن «آدي بَرْفَا» من «شري مهابهاراتا»، والمكرَّسة لخبر شكونتلا. إن هذا الخاتمة (الكولوفون) تُثبت تمامَ وحدةٍ سردية، وتُشير إلى انتقال الحكاية من أصولها الأخلاقية والأسرية التي أبرزتها قصة شكونتلا إلى انكشاف مصير السلالة على نطاقٍ أوسع.
