Adhyāya 71: Kaca and the Saṃjīvanī-vidyā
Devayānī–Śukra Episode
शकुन्तलोवाच गत: पिता मे भगवान् फलान्याहर्तुमाश्रमात् । मुहूर्त सम्प्रतीक्षस्व द्रष्टास्येनमुपागतम्,शकुन्तला बोली--अभ्यागत! मेरे पूज्य पिताजी फल लानेके लिये आश्रमसे बाहर गये हैं। अतः दो घड़ी प्रतीक्षा कीजिये। लौटनेपर उनसे मिलियेगा
śakuntalovāca gataḥ pitā me bhagavān phalāny āhartum āśramāt | muhūrtaṃ sampratīkṣasva draṣṭāsy enam upāgatam ||
قالت شكونتلا: «إنَّ أبي المُبجَّل قد خرج من الأشرم ليجمع الثمار. فامكث هنا هنيهةً؛ فإذا عاد استطعتَ لقاءه».
(दृष्यन्त उवाच
The verse highlights āśrama-dharma: a guest should be received with courtesy, yet important matters are properly concluded in the presence of the elder/guardian. Respect, patience, and correct social conduct are emphasized.
Śakuntalā addresses an arriving visitor, explaining that her father has stepped out from the hermitage to gather fruits and requesting the visitor to wait briefly so he may meet her father upon his return.
