Legitimate rule and moral authority are enhanced by disciplined cooperation among brothers/companions; harmony under dharma makes leadership radiant, just as a sacrifice becomes splendid when the Vedas are properly applied in their due sequence.
The narrator describes Yudhiṣṭhira’s heightened splendor and stature when he is accompanied by his four brothers, using a simile of a grand Vedic sacrifice flourishing through the well-timed employment of the four Vedas.
