Tīrtha-Sevana and the Cursed Apsaras

Grāha-Encounter at Saubhadra Tīrtha

ratnaiḥ pralobhayāmāsuḥ strībhiś caiva punaḥ punaḥ | na ca tau cakratur bhaṅgaṁ vratasya sumahāvratī ||

Educational Q&A

True austerity and dharmic discipline are tested by temptation; steadfastness means not letting external allurements—wealth or sensual pleasure—break one’s vow.

Repeated attempts are made to distract two great vow-keepers by sending riches and alluring women, but they remain unmoved and do not break their ascetic observance.
