यथास्य पुत्रो गुणवाननुरक्तश्न पाण्डवान् | तस्मान्नोपायसाध्यांस्तानहं मन््ये कथंचन,इसी प्रकार उनका पुत्र धृष्टद्युम्न भी गुणवान् तथा पाण्डवोंका प्रेमी है। अतः मैं उन्हें पूर्वोक्त उपायोंसे वशमें करनेयोग्य कदापि नहीं मान सकता
yathāsya putro guṇavān anuraktaś ca pāṇḍavān | tasmān nopāyasādhyāṁs tān ahaṁ manye kathaṁcana ||
قال كارنا: «وكذلك ابنه دْهْرِشْتَديومْنَة فاضلٌ ومخلصٌ للباندافا. لذلك لا أرى أنهم—بأي وجهٍ كان—يمكن إخضاعهم بالحيل التي اقتُرحت من قبل».
कर्ण उवाच
Karna underscores that virtue and steadfast loyalty make certain people resistant to manipulation; ethical character and sincere attachment cannot be easily overturned by political ‘upāyas’ (stratagems).
In counsel, Karna evaluates the opposing side’s cohesion and argues that, since a key figure’s son (identified here as Dhṛṣṭadyumna) is virtuous and devoted to the Pāṇḍavas, the Pāṇḍavas cannot be subdued through the earlier suggested tactics.
