Arjuna’s Hitting of the Target at the Svayaṃvara
षडड्रश्चाखिलो वेद इमं गर्भस्थमेव ह । विवेश भृगुवंशस्य भूय: प्रियचिकीर्षया,भूगुकुलका पुनः प्रिय करनेकी इच्छासे छहों अंगोंसहित सम्पूर्ण वेद इस बालकको गर्भमें ही प्राप्त हो गये थे
ṣaḍaṅgaś cākhilo veda imaṁ garbhastham eva ha | viveśa bhṛguvaṁśasya bhūyaḥ priyacikīrṣayā ||
قال فاسيشثا: «حقًّا، إن الفيدا كلَّها مع علومها الستّة المُعينة قد دخلت هذا الطفل وهو بعدُ في الرحم—مرةً أخرى—رغبةً في أن يُنجَز ما هو عزيزٌ على سلالة بهريغو».
वसिष्ठ उवाच
Sacred knowledge (the Veda with its six auxiliaries) is portrayed as a grace that can be innately bestowed, and its proper purpose is the welfare and cherished aims of a righteous lineage—learning is for dharma and beneficence, not vanity.
Vasiṣṭha describes a miraculous event: while a particular child is still in the womb, the complete Vedic knowledge along with the Vedāṅgas ‘enters’ him, motivated by a benevolent intention toward the Bhṛgu family line.
