द्रौपदी-स्वयंवर-प्रारम्भः
Commencement of Draupadī’s Svayaṃvara
अपगच्छ पथोड<स्माकमित्येवं पार्थिवो<ब्रवीत् । तथा ऋषिरुवाचैनं सान्त्वयउश्लक्षणया गिरा,उन्हें देखकर राजाने कहा--/हमारे रास्तेसे हट जाओ।” तब शक्ति मुनिने मधुर वाणीमें उन्हें समझाते हुए कहा--
apagaccha patho 'smākam ity evaṁ pārthivo 'bravīt | tathā ṛṣir uvāca enaṁ sāntvayan ślakṣaṇayā girā |
فلما رآهم الملك قال: «تنحَّوا عن طريقنا». ثم إنَّ الحكيمَ الناسكَ، ابتغاءَ التهدئة، خاطبَ الملكَ بكلماتٍ لينةٍ مُصالِحة، محاولًا كبحَ بوادرِ النزاعِ بحديثٍ مهذّبٍ وضبطِ نفسٍ.
गन्धर्व उवाच
Even when confronted by authority and harsh command, one should first attempt reconciliation through gentle speech and restraint; courteous words are presented as a dharmic means to prevent escalation.
A king orders others to clear his way. In response, the sage Śakti speaks to him calmly and politely, trying to pacify the situation rather than meeting force with force.
