Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse

नक्तं दिनमथैकत्र स्थिते तस्मिउजनाधिपे । अथाजगाम विप्रर्षिस्तदा द्वादशमे5हनि,वे रात-दिन एक ही जगह खड़े होकर तपस्यामें लगे रहे। तब बारहवें दिन महर्षि वसिष्ठका (वहाँ) शुभागमन हुआ

naktaṁ dinam athaikatra sthite tasmin ujanādhipe | athājagāma viprarṣis tadā dvādaśame 'hani ||

فمكثَ ذلكَ سيِّدُ الناسِ قائمًا في موضعٍ واحدٍ، يمارسُ الزهدَ والتقشُّفَ ليلًا ونهارًا. ثم في اليومِ الثاني عشرَ قَدِمَ إلى هناكَ الحكيمُ البراهميُّ فَسِشْطَه، وكانتْ قدومُه مُبشِّرةً باليُمن.
