Aurva’s Containment of the Wrath-Fire
yathā hi divi dīptāṁśuḥ prabhāsayati tejasā | tathā bhuvi mahīpālo dīptyā saṁvaraṇo 'bhavat ||
The verse teaches that true royal authority is grounded in tejas—an inner excellence that naturally becomes visible. Like the sun’s light, a righteous king’s virtue should illuminate society through protection, order, and auspicious influence.
A Gandharva praises King Saṁvaraṇa by comparing him to the sun: as the sun shines in the sky by its own radiance, Saṁvaraṇa shines on earth with a divine luster, highlighting his eminent presence and kingly stature.
