Saṃvaraṇa’s Collapse, Ministerial Aid, and Vasiṣṭha’s Approach to Sūrya

The verse highlights gratitude toward righteous strength used for protection, and the ethical idea that treacherous, sinful schemes ultimately recoil upon their perpetrator—here, the wicked Purocana meets his end.
Yudhiṣṭhira recalls how, through the prowess of a particular hero (contextually Bhīma), the Pāṇḍavas escaped the deadly lac-house plot and other harmful machinations, and how Purocana, the villain involved in the plot, was killed.
