Vāraṇāvata-vivāsana-nīti: Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Duryodhana’s Policy Dialogue

The verse highlights the vulnerability of the mind to attachment, even in the wise, and suggests that ethical discipline lies not only in avoiding temptation but also in responding responsibly—containing and redirecting the consequences toward a purposeful, dharmic end.
Bharadvāja becomes mentally captivated by an apsarā; his semen is emitted, and he deposits it into a droṇa (vessel). This act sets up the traditional account connected with the origin of Droṇa.
