Droṇa–Drupada Saṃvāda and Droṇa’s Reception at the Kuru Court (द्रोण-द्रुपद-संवादः; कुरुनगरप्रवेशः)

ब्राह्मणस्य वचस्तथ्यं तस्य कालोडयमागत:ः । अनुज्ञाता त्वया देवमाह्दयेयमहं नृप । तेन मन्त्रेण राजर्षे यथास्यान्नौ प्रजा हिता,“उस ब्राह्मणकी बात सत्य ही होगी। उसके उपयोगका यह अवसर आ गया है। महाराज! आपकी आज्ञा होनेपर मैं उस मन्त्रद्वारा किसी देवताका आवाहन कर सकती हूँ। जिससे राजर्षे! हम दोनोंके लिये हितकर संतान प्राप्त हो

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

brāhmaṇasya vacas tathyaṃ tasya kālo 'yam āgataḥ |

anujñātā tvayā devam āhvayeyam ahaṃ nṛpa |

tena mantreṇa rājarṣe yathā syān nau prajā hitā ||

قال فايشَمبايانا: «إن قول ذلك البرهمن حقٌّ لا ريب فيه، وقد آن أوان تحقّقه. أيها الملك، بإذنك أستطيع أن أستدعي إلهاً بذلك المانترا. أيها الحكيم بين الملوك، فليُثمر ذلك المانترا ذريةً تكون خيراً لنا كليْنا.»
