भारतस्येतिहासस्य पुण्यां ग्रन्थार्थसंयुताम् । संस्कारोपगतां ब्राह्मीं नानाशास्त्रोपबृंहिताम्
bhāratasyetihāsasya puṇyāṃ granthārthasaṃyutām | saṃskāropagatāṃ brāhmīṃ nānāśāstropabṛṃhitām
هذا الخبرُ المقدّس عن «بهاراتا»—الغنيّ بمعاني السرد والتعاليم—قد صُقِل بالتقليد والانضباط على وجههما الصحيح، وصيغ بلسانٍ رفيعٍ ذي نَفَسٍ فيديّ، وقُوِّي بفنونٍ شتّى من المعارف. وهو يعرض التاريخ لا بوصفه سجلًّا مجردًا، بل بوصفه تعليمًا أخلاقيًّا مشحونًا بالقيم، صاغته الثقافة والكتاب المقدّس والمعرفة القائمة على التعليل.
