Adhyaya 72 — Puradāha: Rudra’s Cosmic Chariot, Pāśupata-Vrata, and Brahmā’s Shiva-Stuti
अनन्तासनसंस्थाय अनन्तायान्तकारिणे विमलाय विशालाय विमलाङ्गाय ते नमः
anantāsanasaṃsthāya anantāyāntakāriṇe vimalāya viśālāya vimalāṅgāya te namaḥ
Suta Goswami (narrating a received Shiva-stuti within the Purva-Bhaga praise sequence)
It frames the Linga as the sign of the Infinite (Ananta) and the Stainless Reality (Vimala), guiding the devotee to worship Shiva not merely as a deity but as Pati—the boundless ground of dissolution and liberation.
Shiva is presented as Ananta (limitless), Antakarin (the transcender who ends time/death), and Vimala (untainted by mala), indicating Shiva-tattva as pure consciousness beyond pasha (bondage) and the final refuge of the pashu (soul).
Mantric stuti used in Linga-puja and Pashupata-style dhyana: contemplate Shiva as vast and immaculate, dissolving fear of death and reinforcing viveka that the pashu attains release only through Pati’s grace.
