ग्रहसंख्यावर्णनम् — ध्रुवस्य तपोबलात् ध्रुवस्थानप्राप्तिः

प्राङ्मुखो नियतो भूत्वा जजाप प्रीतमानसः शाकमूलफलाहारः संवत्सरमतन्द्रितः

prāṅmukho niyato bhūtvā jajāpa prītamānasaḥ śākamūlaphalāhāraḥ saṃvatsaramatandritaḥ

مستقبِلًا الشرق، منضبطًا كابحًا لنفسه، أجرى الجَپَا (japa) وقلبه مفعمٌ بالبهاكتي. مقتصرًا في غذائه على الخُضر والجذور والثمار، واصل هذه الممارسة سنةً كاملة بلا غفلة—موجِّهًا البَشو (pashu، النفس الفردية) بثبات نحو البَتي (Pati)، الربّ شِيفا.
