Cosmic Consecrations of Lords of Planets and Domains
etadvo vistareṇaiva kathitaṃ munipuṅgavāḥ abhiṣiktāstatastvete viśiṣṭā viśvayoninā

It highlights that true distinction in Linga-puja comes after consecration (abhiṣeka)—a rite symbolizing Śiva’s anugraha (grace) that sanctifies and empowers the devotee or the consecrated beings.
By naming Him Viśvayoni, the verse points to Śiva as Pati—the universal source and sovereign cause—whose grace alone confers viśeṣa (spiritual excellence) beyond ordinary conditioned existence.
Abhiṣeka (consecratory anointing) is central—ritually mirroring inner purification in Pāśupata-oriented practice, where the pashu becomes refined through initiation-like sanctification and Pati’s grace.
