viṃśatiś ca sahasrāṇi kālo 'yam adhikaṃ vinā manvantarasya saṃkhyaiṣā laiṅge 'sminkīrtitā dvijāḥ
(Liṅga Purāṇa).

It frames Liṅga-worship within Shaiva sacred cosmology by fixing the Manvantara as a defined time-cycle, implying that puṇya, puja, and Śiva-anugraha operate meaningfully across ordered cosmic periods rather than random time.
Indirectly, it presents Śiva-tattva as the stable ground of cosmic order: while Manvantaras and their counts change as kāla (time), the teaching authority of the Liṅga tradition remains consistent—pointing to Pati (Śiva) as transcending yet governing kāla.
No specific rite is prescribed in this verse; the takeaway is doctrinal—understanding kāla (cosmic time) as the framework in which Pāśupata discipline and Liṅga-pūjā yield results across yugas and Manvantaras.
