The Narrative of the Five Pretas
Eligibility for rites and jīvac-chrāddha procedure
कुर्याच्च मासिकं मासि सपिण्डीकरणं ततः / आशौचान्ते ततः कुर्यादात्मनो वा मरस्य तु
kuryācca māsikaṃ māsi sapiṇḍīkaraṇaṃ tataḥ / āśaucānte tataḥ kuryādātmano vā marasya tu
ينبغي أن يُقام شْرادْدها (śrāddha) الشهري في كل شهر؛ ثم يُؤدَّى طقس سَپِنْدِيكَرَنَة (sapiṇḍīkaraṇa). ثم عند انقضاء مدة الآشَوْچا (āśauca) أي النجاسة الطقسية، يُعاد أداء الشعيرة المقررة—سواء عن النفس (احتياطًا) أو عن الميت.
