Vedantic Theme: Īśvara-anugraha as purifier; bhakti as surrender that transforms papa through repentance and resolve.
Application: Use daily confession-prayer: acknowledge faults without self-deception, ask forgiveness, and renew intention to act rightly.
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana: bhakti-prāyaścitta tone—seeking Hari’s grace as purifier (general internal parallel)
This verse emphasizes continual self-audit and repentance: acknowledging daily offences and explicitly asking Puruṣottama for pardon, a core purificatory practice alongside dharma and ritual.
By admitting “day and night” offences, the verse highlights how karmic burdens can accumulate through habitual actions; the remedy presented here is sincere confession and turning to the Lord for cleansing and restraint.
End the day with a brief confession-and-forgiveness prayer, resolve to avoid repeated faults, and pair devotion with ethical correction—truthfulness, non-harm, and disciplined conduct.
