Veṅkaṭācala Māhātmya: Bhakti-Lakṣaṇa, Nārasiṁha-tīrtha, and the Secret Darśana-Vidhi of Śrīnivāsa
tatra sthale harirāste sadaiva yato vyāptaḥ sarvato vai nṛsiṃhaḥ / etacchrutvā daityakumārakāste prahlādamūcurbhaktavaryaṃ hareśca
Narrator (Purāṇic narrative voice describing the scene and dialogue)
Concept: Divine immanence: Nṛsiṃha’s vyāpti (pervasion) makes the place eternally sacred; recognition of presence leads to transformed dialogue and devotion.
Vedantic Theme: Antaryāmitva / sarva-vyāpitva of Īśvara—God as immanent reality pervading all.
Application: Practice ‘presence-awareness’ in worship: treat sacred spaces (and by extension life) as pervaded by the divine; respond with humility and right speech.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: tirtha
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.24.64-65 (Nṛsiṃha worship; Hari-kathā as tīrtha)
This verse emphasizes that Hari is not confined to a single shrine or moment—Nṛsiṃha pervades all directions, indicating ever-present divine protection and the immediacy of God for the devotee.
Indirectly, it frames the soul’s journey as safeguarded by devotion: recognizing Hari’s constant presence (sadaiva) supports fearlessness and steadiness—qualities repeatedly upheld in Purāṇic guidance for life, death, and beyond.
Cultivate remembrance of the Divine in all places and situations; like Prahlāda, prioritize sincere devotion and integrity, especially when pressured by hostile or materialistic influences.
