maheraṇāya cakṣuse / oṃ yo vaḥ śivatamo rasaḥ / tasya bhājayeteha naḥ / aśatīriva mātaraḥ / oṃ tasmā araṅgamāma vo yasya kṣayāya jinvatha / āpo jana yathā ca naḥ / oṃ sumitriyā na āpa oṣadhayaḥ santu oṃ durmitriyāstasmai santu yo 'smān dveṣṭi yañca vayaṃ dviṣmaḥ / oṃ drupadādivamumucānaḥ svinnaḥ snāto malādiva / pūtaṃ pavitreṇevājyamāpaḥ śundhantu mainasaḥ / oṃ ṛtaṃ ca satyaṃ cābhīddhāttapaso 'dhyajāyata / tatorātryajāyata / tataḥ samudror'ṇavaḥ samudrādarṇavādadhisaṃvatsaro ajāyata / ahaurātrāṇi vidadhadviśvasya miṣato vaśī / sūryācandramasau dhātā yathāpūrvamakalpayat / divaṃ ca pṛthivīṃ cāntarikṣamatho svaḥ
لأجل “العين العظمى السائرة إلى الأمام” (الشمس). يا أيتها المياه—أيّ جوهرٍ أقدسَ وأيمَنَ فيكنّ، فامنحنَا منه نصيبًا هنا، كالأمهات الرقيقات. يا أيتها المياه، نقترب منكنّ طلبًا للحماية؛ قوّينَا لئلا تهلك مساكننا وعافيتنا—ولتكن المياه للناس ولنا أيضًا. لتكن المياه والأعشاب الشافية أصدقاء لنا؛ ولكن لتكن غير صديقة لمن يبغضنا ولمن نبغضه. وكما يُفكّ الرجل من عمود، وكما يُغتسل فيزول العرق والدنس، فلتطهّر المياه باطن عقولنا، كما يُصفّى السمن المصفّى بمصفاة. ومن الزهد المولود من الحرارة وُلد Ṛta (النظام الكوني) وSatya (الحق)؛ ومن ذلك وُلد الليل؛ ومن ذلك وُلد المحيط والسيل؛ ومن المحيط والسيل وُلدت السنة. والمنظِّم، المتسلّط على كل ما يتحرّك، رتّب الليل والنهار؛ وكما كان من قبل، أقام الخالق الشمس والقمر، والسماء والأرض، والفضاء الأوسط، والعالم الأعلى.
