FAQs

This verse presents āmalaka taken with cow’s milk as a recommended consumable, indicating a traditional, purificatory and strengthening regimen within the text’s practical instructions.

It shows the Purana also preserves practical guidance—here, a list of medicinal substances and a dosage measure—alongside its better-known discussions of dharma and post-death rites.

Treat it as a historical Ayurvedic reference: if considering herbs like amla, bala, or guggulu, follow qualified Ayurvedic guidance—especially since substances like manaḥśilā are mineral drugs requiring expert supervision.
