Lord Vishnu (in dialogue with Garuda)
Dosha: Pitta
Concept: Synthesis and proper processing (saṃskāra) enhance efficacy; disciplined preparation is itself a virtue.
Vedantic Theme: Right action with right method; saṃskāra transforms substances as sādhanā transforms the practitioner (analogy).
Application: Prepare ghṛta cooked with pastes and decoctions of triphalā, nimba, bhūnimba, karañja, khadira, etc.; use as an excellent remedy for upadaṃśa.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.171.6-7 (kvātha and lepa for upadaṃśa)
Ghṛta functions as a classical carrier (anupāna/vehicle) that delivers herbal actives; the verse presents cooked ghee with bitters/astringents as a prime remedy for upadaṃśa.
This verse is not about the soul’s journey; it is a medical formulation describing how to prepare a potent upadaṃśa-removing ghṛta.
It suggests a traditional bitter-astringent herb profile for ulcerative/skin conditions; preparation and intake of medicated ghee should be done only under qualified Ayurvedic supervision.
