Lord Vishnu (in instruction to Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Concept: Pathya-niyama (right diet and regimen) as essential to healing; cultivation of ojas and clarity supports righteous living.
Vedantic Theme: Sattva-enhancement (medhya) as a support for contemplation; moderation and disciplined intake.
Application: Follow a warm-drunk preparation with vāgujī; keep milk as diet; employ the seven supportive substances (tila, ājya, triphalā, kṣaudra, vyoṣa, bhallāta, śarkarā) as strengthening/medhya/vṛṣya supports per appropriate formulation and supervision.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.171 (internal regimens for kuṣṭha; pathya/apathya logic implied)
It frames healing as disciplined regimen: warm intake, supportive diet (milk), and a defined set of seven ingredients described as tonic, medhya, and kuṣṭha-conquering.
By advocating self-regulation (ahara and medicine), it reflects Purāṇic teaching that bodily order supports dharma and steadiness of mind—preconditions for higher spiritual pursuits.
Treat it as a classical formulation list; because ingredients like bhallātaka can be irritant/toxic if misused, modern use should be only under qualified Ayurvedic supervision.
