Pāṇḍu-Śotha Nidāna: Doṣa-wise Signs, Complications, and Prognosis

Lord Vishnu (teaching Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Dosha: Mixed
Concept: Srotorodha (channel obstruction) leading to localized lodging in tvak-māṁsa and producing nicaya-type consolidated swelling.
Vedantic Theme: Bondage by obstruction (āvaraṇa) as an analogy: when flow is blocked, density and suffering arise; clarity restores movement.
Application: When swelling is firm/compact and localized, consider obstruction and tissue-involvement; prioritize measures that restore flow (srotas-śodhana) and reduce accumulation.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bibhatsa

This verse defines nicaya as a compact, raised edema caused by obstructed movement in the body, showing how Garuda Purana preserves technical Ayurvedic disease-classification.
It does not describe the soul’s journey here; instead, it presents a medical (Ayurvedic) model of obstruction and accumulation in the body, within Vishnu’s instructional discourse to Garuda.
Treat persistent swelling as a sign of obstruction/accumulation and seek timely medical evaluation, while adopting disciplined diet and lifestyle that reduce congestion and imbalance.
