Concept: Doṣa-specific manifestations require discernment; imbalance produces predictable suffering.
Vedantic Theme: Prakṛti’s guṇas/doṣas condition embodied experience; viveka (discernment) begins with accurate recognition of states.
Application: Differentiate pitta-prameha (burning, thirst, sour belching, syncope, diarrhea) from vata-prameha (udāvarta, tremor, cardiac/throat flutter); tailor diet and treatment accordingly.
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.159.10 (kapha complications); Garuda Purana 1.159.14 (dietary provocatives)
This verse lists burning sensation, thirst, sour eructations, fainting, and diarrhoea/loose stools as Pitta-born manifestations.
It notes udāvarta (upward/obstructed movement), tremors, and fluttering/restlessness affecting the heart and throat as Vāta-born signs.
Use the symptom-patterns (Pitta vs Vāta) as a traditional rubric for recognizing imbalance and seeking timely, appropriate dietary and lifestyle correction with qualified guidance.
