Lord Vishnu (speaking in praise/teaching to Garuda)
Concept: The Lord as both agent and process—karta, karma, kriyā, kārya—signaling non-dual dependence of cause-effect on the supreme ground.
Vedantic Theme: Brahman/Īśvara as upādāna and nimitta in a theistic-vedāntic frame; all results culminate in Him.
Application: See work, means, and outcomes as pervaded by the divine; reduce anxiety over results by offering both effort and fruit to Śrīpati.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.15 (aiśvarya-nāmas: Śrīpati, nṛpati, sarvasya pati)
The verse teaches that the Supreme (Vishnu) pervades the entire chain of causation—agent, action, performance, and outcome—placing karma and its fruits within a divine, all-pervading order.
By presenting the Lord as both the doer and the result, it implies that liberation-oriented living is aligning one’s actions and intentions with the Supreme, reducing ego-based agency and attachment to results.
Perform duties ethically and wholeheartedly, but soften ego and anxiety by remembering that results unfold within a larger divine law—offer actions and outcomes to Vishnu (Śrīpati).
