Citraketu Offends Śiva, Is Cursed by Pārvatī, and Is Glorified as a Vaiṣṇava
śrī-śuka uvāca evaṁ śaptaś citraketur vimānād avaruhya saḥ prasādayām āsa satīṁ mūrdhnā namreṇa bhārata
He immediately descends from his vimāna and humbly bows his head, attempting to pacify Satī rather than retaliate.
Because he accepted the situation with humility and respect for Lord Śiva’s consort, showing a devotee’s non-envious, peaceful conduct even under provocation.
When criticized or wronged, respond with humility and de-escalation—seek reconciliation instead of prideful argument, keeping one’s character steady under pressure.
