The Dynasty of Vaivasvata Manu Begins — Ilā/Sudyumna and the Birth of Purūravā
sukumāra-vanaṁ meror adhastāt praviveśa ha yatrāste bhagavāñ charvo ramamāṇaḥ sahomayā
In Canto 9, Chapter 1, this verse describes Sukumāra-vana as a forest situated below Mount Meru.
It states that Lord Śarva (Śiva) resides there, enjoying pastimes together with Umā (Pārvatī).
It encourages remembrance of sacred places and divine devotees like Śiva, cultivating reverence and devotion (bhakti) through hearing and contemplation.
