mātaraṁ pitaraṁ bhrātṝn patīn putrān svasṝn api yad-arthe jahima dāśārha dustyajān sva-janān prabho
This verse states that the gopīs gave up even their closest family relationships—mother, father, brothers, husbands, sons, and sisters—because their love for Kṛṣṇa was supreme and irresistible.
In the context of their meeting with Kṛṣṇa, the gopīs remind Him that their devotion was so total that they crossed social and familial bonds, which are normally “dustyaja” (very hard to renounce).
Prioritize sincere devotion and spiritual values over mere social pressure—while maintaining responsibility—by placing God at the center of one’s decisions and attachments.
