इत्युक्त्वापरुषंवाक्यंरावणंरावणानुजः ।आजगाममुहूर्तेनयत्ररामस्सलक्ष्मणः ।।6.17.1।।
ity uktvā paruṣaṃ vākyaṃ rāvaṇaṃ rāvaṇānujaḥ | ājagāma muhūrtena yatra rāmaḥ salakṣmaṇaḥ ||
Having thus spoken harsh words to Rāvaṇa, his younger brother (Vibhīṣaṇa) reached, in a short while, the place where Rāma stood with Lakṣmaṇa.
Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
Truthful admonition may be stern; when it is rejected, one may uphold dharma by seeking righteous refuge.
Vibhīṣaṇa departs from Rāvaṇa and arrives quickly where Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa are.
Steadfastness in dharma despite personal cost.
