यदि दृश्येत सा साध्वी यदि चेह वसेमहि।स्पृहयेयं न शक्राय नायोध्यायै रघूत्तम।।।।
yadi dṛśyeta sā sādhvī yadi ceha vasemahi |
spṛhayeyaṃ na śakrāya nāyodhyāyai raghūttama ||
If only that virtuous Sītā were to be seen—if only we could live here with her—then, O best of the Raghus, I would not yearn for Indra’s station, nor even for Ayodhyā.
'O Lakshmna, the best of the Raghu race, if only that chaste Sita appears, we will stay here. I will not wish for the position of Indra or for Ayodhya.
