Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana

Sañjaya said: O great king, your son Duryodhana, supported by his entire army, charged straight at the Pāṇḍavas with Yudhiṣṭhira at their head—pressing the battle forward through sheer force and resolve, as the war’s moral and political stakes tightened around the leaders themselves.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how war increasingly targets the principal leaders, revealing the ethical weight of command: a king’s or prince’s choices mobilize entire armies and thereby magnify responsibility for harm, outcomes, and the moral direction of the conflict.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Duryodhana, backed by all his troops, launched a direct assault on the Pāṇḍavas, who are described as being led by Yudhiṣṭhira at the forefront.
